A Place For Me.

Back to poems

Today I found a note pinned to a tree,
It said what I wasn’t and just couldn’t be,
I burned the note with my last match,
Into the soil the note became attached,
I walked much further and far ahead,
To find that things weren’t in my head,
The nature of things became clear to me,
Far as the most deep seeking eye could see,
The trees stood tall all around,
Soil not matted upon the ground,
I could see it all and that much more,
Never distinguishing the rich from poor,
All but of one in this well lit place,
Sun started setting so I picked up the pace,
My friends as they chirp all around me,
The beavers played so I let them be,
This is a place where many are alive,
Towards the light they always strive,
It is a place of golden trees,
Emerald leaves and bumble bees,
Ruby cherries and sapphire skies,
This is the place that tells no lies.
